10 Forgotten WrestleMania Gems

4. The Rockers vs. Barbarian & Haku - WrestleMania VII

The opening match of WrestleMania VII pitted Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty, The Rockers, against Bobby Heenan's makeshift tandem of Haku and The Barbarian. It was the speed of the babyfaces against the raw power and ferocity of the heels, making for the perfect dynamic for a match aimed at getting the crowd pumped up for the remainder of the show. The Rockers were, arguably, at their peak as team, both in terms of in-ring performance and popularity. Barbarian and Haku, who would go on to greater success in WCW as the Faces of Fear, made for a formidable team whose chemistry with their opponents helped create an exciting contest that showcased both to perfection. In the end, Jannetty and Michaels scored the win, seemingly setting themselves up for a tag team championship rivalry. Unfortunately, the team would never achieve their goal of wearing the gold, splitting for good by the end of the year. Following one of their last great performances as a duo, the last at WrestleMania, Jannetty would go on to achieve moderate success as a singles competitor, including an Intercontinental Championship reign. That Michaels fellow, on the other hand...he did alright for himself.
