10 Forgotten WWE Wrestlers Who Were Supposed To Be Stars

9. Mad Maxine

The six foot, two inch Mad Maxine's time in the then-World Wrestling Federation was far shorter than she was, lasting for only about a year stretch. In fact, following her 1985 debut, she only wrestled twice, but it's clear that the company had plans for the Fabulous Moolah's tall charge. In truth, there isn't a whole lot of evidence behind this, but what evidence exists is telling. In the midst of the Rock 'n Wrestling boom, a cartoon was developed as a vehicle to further spread the gospel of Hulkamania, as well as a number of other WWF stars who would feature on CBS Saturday mornings. One of the characters slated to appear in Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n Wrestling was none other than "'Mad' Maxine Ryder," an interestingly contrary instance of WWF adding a last name to a female talent, rather than taking one away. In any case, this seemingly long-lost relative of a certain Zack appeared in various early media for the cartoon, such as stickers, print advertisements, and even commercials. They weren't going to waste time animating a nobody, after all. However, Maxine left for reasons which have never really been disclosed, and Fabulous Moolah ended up taking her spot as Wendi Richter's rival on the cartoon instead.
