10 Former Midcarders Who Could Return To WWE As Main Eventers In 2015

6. John Morrison

The 'Shaman of Sexy' is one former midcarder who definitely should have had a crack at the main event scene when he was in WWE. Well, he did have one pay-per-view main event to his name, competing in the triple threat cage match headliner against The Miz and John Cena at Extreme Rules 2011. He would be gone from WWE later in the year. Morrison had just about everything WWE wanted in its superstars. He was a solid performer in the ring (with a few very spectacular moves) and he had a great look. Morrison was always in top, top shape. Crucially, however, he wasn't much of a promo and his character was, at times, nonexistent. Still, Morrison should have been bigger than he was. His reason for WWE was to heal up from various injuries and pursue other non-wrestling pursuits (he wanted to break into films) but he's pretty much just worked on the independent circuit and made some terrible straight-to-DVD action films (Hercules Reborn, anyone?). The 'Guru of Greatness' is currently one of the featured performers for the new and exciting Lucha Underground show on the El Rey network, competing under the name Johnny Mundo. WWE could use a talent like Morrison these days.
