10 Former WWE Failures Who Would Succeed In 2015

3. Evan Bourne

It's a bit difficult to call Evan Bourne a failure, given that he had much better fortune in the WWE than a lot of the people on this list, but overall his run has to be considered a big disappointment. A favourite of John Cena, Bourne was given a decent push in the company but several outside-the-ring incidents derailed his momentum. Indie veteran Bourne signed with the company in October 2007 but didn't make his main roster debut, on the ECW brand, until June 2008. Bourne had several strong showings against Shelton Benjamin, Chavo Guerrero and especially Rey Mysterio and Matt Hardy. Things were looking good. Things were looking considerably better by spring 2010, with Bourne booked to go over on top stars such as Chris Jericho and stealing the show in a couple of Money in the Bank ladder matches. It was all downhill from there, however, with Wellness Policy violations and major injuries convincing the company that he wasn't worth the risk or investment. Bourne was released on June 10th 2014. He hadn't been see on WWE television in over two years. He's been a busy guy since, however, and has rebuilt his reputation on the independent scene with stirring performances in former home Ring of Honor as well as with Dragon Gate in Japan. Bourne would have a much better shot at success in present-day WWE, although with his past and fellow flyers like Kalisto and Neville currently in featured roles, it's hard to see exactly where he would fit in.
