10 Former WWE Stars Who Definitely Should Not Return For Brand Split 2016

1. Goldberg

There is absolutely no reason why Goldberg should return to full time WWE programming in 2016. Whilst his relationship with the company is obviously better today than it has been for a while, as seen by his presence as a marquee name for WWE 2K17, we really do not need to see him wrestling frequently some 12 years after he first left the company.

If Goldberg turns up for a marquee one-off match, that would be fine. But bringing back Goldberg for full-time programming makes so very little sense, and would be a most egregious example of WWE not having faith in their ability to create new stars.

It is unthinkable that Goldberg would return to give rubs to younger guys, and he would have to be booked in a dominant fashion. In 2016, this is more damaging than anything else. I'd probably be excited to see him return and spear, I don't know, Simon Gotch out of his boots, but the novelty would wear off and wear off fast.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
