10 Former WWE Stars Who Have Flourished In AEW
4. PAC
Before all of the WWE releases amidst the pandemic era, and the seemingly weekly breaking story of someone asking for their release, there was one man who knew his worth and demanded more for himself.
'The Bastard' PAC.
In WWE, as Neville, the Geordie native was one of the most electrifying in-ring talents in the company, yet creative seemed to offer him nothing more than a few midcard opportunities. A well received heel turn saw him crowd 'King of the Cruiserweights', and he embarked on an excellent run with the belt.
Neville's dedication to bringing 205 LIVE to a bigger audience was admirable, but his hard work was undercut when his WrestleMania 33 match with Austin Aries was cut from the DVD, denying him further royalties. Then, he had to drop the belt to the eternal irritant, Enzo Amore.
Furious with the spot he found himself in, Neville walked out of WWE, requested his release, and had to wait an entire year on the sidelines until it was granted. It turned out to be a great move for him.
Winning multiple championships in the UK, PAC found himself as one of the AEW originals. Although his push to the top has been scuppered by travel issues and the influx of talent over the three years, there is no denying that the 'Man That Gravity Forgot' has always been well booked and protected by Tony Khan.
