5. Mike Bailey

Falling afoul of US Border Patrol in 2016 could've spelled doom for Mike Bailey's career.

The Canadian was just starting to break out on the American indie circuit when authorities slapped him with a five-year ban for working without a VISA. Cut off from most major revenue streams, he should've sunk, but has since found a home in Japan's DDT, keeping a busy schedule as he works his way towards the company's deep main event scene.

Like many on our list, Bailey is constantly working. Japan occupies most of his time, but he's active on the white-hot European indie scene too, making particularly notable appearances for Germany's wXw and Ireland's OTT in 2018. Slotting Impact into this routine would prove difficult, but not impossible.

The promotion now tapes in Toronto, so Bailey's VISA troubles wouldn't be an issue, and he'd be a good fit for the X Division in-particular. With his high-impact, eye-catching style and affable babyface character, he's somebody the fans would get behind immediately, and working for the company would offer increased American exposure without having to work in the country, keeping his star alive for when he's eventually able to return.
