10 Free Agents Impact Wrestling Should Really Sign

6. David Starr

A fully three-dimensional performer and one of the world's brightest independent prospects, David Starr can do it all, and it's surprising that a major promotion hasn't already signed him up.

Starr's versatility stands out the most. When battling terrifying Austrian bruiser WALTER, he's the scrappiest of underdog babyfaces, pulling the crowd in with exert-level bumping, selling, and emoting. In Chicago's AAW, he excels as domineering heel stable WRSTLING's gloriously dickish mouthpiece. Stylistically, too, he's elastic, and just as capable of working bitter, bloody deathmatches with Joey Janela as he is trading holds with a Zack Sabre Jr. or Matt Riddle.

As one of the independent circuit's most in-demand performers, Starr keeps an absurdly busy calendar. Joining Impact wouldn't interfere with this too much, as the company's relaxed taping schedule should allow him to stay active in promotions like AAW and wXw, while playing a new role on national television. It'd be the next logical step in the 27-year-old's career, with his relative youth meaning he's likely in no hurry to ink a deal with WWE and walk away from the indie lifestyle entirely.
