10 Friends Turned Foes In The UFC
4. Robbie Lawler And Colby Covington
Colby Covington strikes again on this list and this time we focus on his implosion with former American Top Team buddy, Robbie Lawler.
The team's self-touted captain, Covington, claimed that Lawler's exit from the team was down to him being a 'diva' and that he betrayed them by leaving for the nearby Hard Knocks 365 Gym.
The two would be scheduled to meet at UFC on ESPN 5 in the main event.
Lawler routinely laughed off Covington's proclamations and stated he had found a 'new direction', whereas Covington was adamant his former teammate left the camp because of a picture hanging on the wall that depicted Tyrone Woodley standing victorious over Lawler in 2016.
Covington stirred the pot further by calling Lawler out for turning his back on those who trained him and promised to leave Lawler 'in a pool of his own blood'.
The current American Top Team member would come out on top and Covington would still hold his own claim as the Undisputed UFC Welterweight Champion. As of this moment his team looked to have had the last laugh and Covington will challenge for the actual Welterweight title at UFC 245, but all that can change in an instant in MMA.
