10 Friends Turned Foes In The UFC

3. Ken And Frank Shamrock

Anyone who has a brother knows that there's one undoubted fact about brotherhood - you're going to fight.

That tends to not happen in a professional sense, though. SPOILER! It doesn't here either, but the bad blood between the two adopted sons of Bob Shamrock, Ken and Frank, fuelled speculation of a box office mega battle for years.

Between Ken blasting Frank for being an 'ungrateful punk' who disrespected their father and Frank accusing Ken of being a bully who degraded him, the brothers were never shy of ways to describe one another.

The fight looked set to happen in 2008 when the two signed a contract to fight in principal, only for it to hit the skids and Frank to announce that he didn't see the point in fighting an 'old man'.

In the mid '90s, the brothers were on top of the UFC - Ken being a top draw and Frank owning the Light heavyweight belt. Then, their father decided to take Ken's side when Frank opted to leave their gym to start his own and their rivalry would be exposed to the world.

This added a dimension of family loyalty into the feud, yet Frank still vouched for his father having an 'amazing heart' for taking him and his brother off the streets.

Frank would eventually corner Ken in his final bout against Royce Gracie in 2016, so all was not lost and the brothers looked to have reconciled their differences.

It would have been a hell of a main event, though.
