10 Frustrating WWE Storylines That'll Never Have A Conclusion

9. Why Did Brett DiBiase Run-In At Summerslam 09?

Summerslam 2009 was generally received as a great pay-per-view, but there's one match in particular that would leave most fans scratching their heads in confusion. Randy Orton and John Cena were embroiled in an on-going feud for the WWE Championship, which saw Randy Orton heavily rely on his partners from Legacy to win his matches. When Cena and Orton faced off at Summerslam, there were several spots which made the match entirely convoluted, one of which being a run-in from a seemingly random fan who would interfere in the match, ultimately giving Randy Orton the win. The next night on Raw this fan was revealed to be Ted DiBiase Jr's brother, Brett DiBiase. After a backstage segment of them talking, Brett was never seen again on WWE TV and it was never explained why he interfered. We could assume he was supposed to join Legacy at that point, but for some reason didn't. Either way, Brett went straight back to developmental, while the John/Randy feud would continue, with Orton losing the belt at Breaking Point. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOLteTp5CA0 Brett DiBiase's mysteriously unexplained run-in only further prolonged a stale feud between Randy Orton and John Cena, but there's still never been a valid reason for his appearance, nor is there ever likely to be as Brett's no longer with the WWE.
