10 Frustrating WWE Storylines That'll Never Have A Conclusion

8. Mordecai And His Crusade Against Sin

Mordecai may have been a goofy idea - a fanatic religious zealot who intends to cleanse all of the sin from the WWE, but with some tweaks and modifications, it might have possibly worked, or at least have been entertaining for a while. The general plan was to make a foil, or counter character to typically occult, demonic gimmicks like The Undertaker and Kane, with early creative plans eventually pairing Mordecai against the Deadman. With his white robes and staff, Mordecai established himself as a religious force claiming to be working as 'the right hand of a higher power'. After several vignettes, Mordecai debuted by squashing Scotty 2 Hotty at Judgment Day, along with several other low ranking wrestlers on Smackdown, before he was recalled to OVW just a few weeks later. If the attire wasn't so full-on, it certainly could have worked. Perhaps the relatively green Kevin Fertig wasn't the best choice for the gimmick, although he presumably came up with it as it bares a shocking resemblance to his previous gimmick, highly based on the concept of sin and the popular film Se7en. The details don't matter, but awful or not, Mordecai's crusade on sin could have been interesting at least if he was allowed to go toe-to-toe with The Undertaker.
