10 Fun Facts About My Trip To The 25th Anniversary Of WWE WrestleMania

4. Booker T's Legends Of Wrestling Fanfest

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjBZY9biojE When you hear that Booker T's putting on a convention with tons of big names and it's cheap, you gotta go check it out. I need to say this with all love and respect for wrestlers who put their bodies through hard times for fans entertainment, but Bubba Ray Dudley is a dick. I met him in 2004 at a UK signing with a friend and he looked like he was at a funeral. D-Von couldn't have been nicer, but Bubba was just unreceptive and stared at everyone like he wanted them to die. Fast forward to the Booker convention, one of my favourite parts of WrestleMania weekend. One of my friends wanted to meet The Dudleyz. Really badly. I warned him of my experience but he thought I was over-reacting or Bubba was perhaps having a bad day when I met him, so he went to buy his ticket. Buying tickets to meet the wrestlers was a shambles, by the way, until a woman came over and within 90 seconds dealt with about 20 people and made everyone happy. Turned out that lady was Mr.s Booker T, Sharmell, so once she's fully out of wrestling she may have a career in management ready if she wants it. So my buddy queues to meet the Dudleys and I can see D-Von laughing and smiling and generally having a decent time, and there's Bubba, looking f***in' miserable as always. I'm trying to be positive for my friend ("I'm sure when you get to him, he'll perk up for a photo") - I was telling bold face lies, but I didn't want to kill his spirit. So finally my friend gets to the front and Bubba's phone goes off. Does he cancel the call to take the picture? No, of course not. He gets up and walks away to talk on the phone, for a LONG time. So, in conclusion, my friend has a picture of him and D-Von Dudley with D-Von looking really happy and trying hard and my friend really depressed with the realisation that Bubba Ray Dudley really is a d***. It still makes me laugh, to this day.
