10 Fun Facts About My Trip To WWE WrestleMania 21

3. Best Hall Of Fame Class Ever

When I woke up at 4:48am back in Glasgow and rushed to make it to the airport, I stupidly forgot to pick up my suit that had been drying in the living room the night before I left. Back then, if you went to the HOF, you had to be in black tie or you wouldn€™t get in.

The ceremony was taking place at the Universal Amphitheatre at Universal Studios and like a scene in a movie we stopped off at a suit store on Sunset Boulevard and after trying on the orange Dumb and Dumber suit (SO tempted) I settled on a smart but relatively cheap $149 suit.

As we hailed a cab, we realised again with the dastardly time difference that we were late, so we got in the cab and went straight to the ceremony as I awkwardly got changed into my suit in the taxi. The driver thought we were doing something completely different.

By the time we found the amphitheatre we had missed Bob Orton's induction, but the ceremony was fantastic. The Iron Sheik got inducted and wouldn€™t leave the podium, much to the hilarity of the audience. Jerry Lawler inducted Jimmy Hart who gave a fun speech about his career.

Then it was time for the double main event. First, Ric Flair inducted Rowdy Roddy Piper. I welled up a little and loved Piper€™s closing line of €œMy name€™s Rowdy Roddy Piper, and you ain€™t seen nothin yet€.

Finally, Sylvester Stallone came out to induct The Hulkster. Hogan came out to a thunderous ovation from a crowd that loved him and couldn€™t stop chanting €œone more match€. Hulk looked genuinely happy and emotional and that moment still ranks up there as one of the best things I€™ve ever got to see in person.
