10 Fun Facts About My Trip To WWE WrestleMania 23

2. WrestleMania Press Conference At Trump Tower

On our trip to New York before 'Mania, we were the usual tourists going to Times Square, hitting up the bars and seeing a show on Broadway, but we had one other item on the agenda and that was to go to Trump Tower to watch the WrestleMania Press Conference with Donald Trump, Vince McMahon and Stone Cold Steve Austin. As we walked through the entrance of Trump Tower, there was a display window of various pieces you could buy in the gift shop, including a Trump Tie for $200. Funnily enough, we passed on picking that one up. We scouted any places with a good view and settled at the edge of an escalator looking down at the floor below where the press conference was to take place. Vince came out completely in-character and even took a slap from Trump to cause a bit of excitement and a photo op. As we were walking out of the building, there was a huge commotion as fans saw Vince McMahon leaving for his limousine. A fan yelled €œVince, you€™d be a beautiful bald man€. Just for a second, McMahon stopped, turned round to the fans and laughed, breaking character, before getting into the back of his car to speed away into the New York traffic. After we left, we walked past a bar that showed clips of Trump slapping Vince on CNN. It was pretty cool to have just been there to see it.
