When we got to Detroit, we tried to see if there was any touristy stuff we could go and see. In hindsight, I wish wed gone to the Silverdome just to take some pictures of it (and maybe even try and get inside). We looked through various guides and settled on going to the Henry Ford Museum. We thought, why not go and see some fancy cars and documentaries on the car industry in Michigan? We got a taxi to the building and were looking around, when we came across an amazing historical artefact. The limo that John F. Kennedy was sitting in when he was assassinated in Dallas, Texas was right there in front of us. For whatever reason, I felt tacky taking a picture of the car so instead we all just stood for a few minutes looking at this restored vehicle, thinking about its history. If youre ever in the Detroit area, I cant recommend enough that you go and check it out. Theres also a Motown Museum but it was closed for renovations. I was devastated, natch.
