10 Fun Facts About My Trip To WWE WrestleMania 23

7. Choosing The Pub Over The Train To RAW

On my last three trips to WrestleMania, I€™d enjoyed RAW being just a twenty minute ride away from the hotel, making it easy to head along and see what the fallout would be from the biggest show of the year. My friend Kenny bought the RAW tickets in 2007 and we were all set to do it once more. WrestleMania 23 was an incredible event to see in person. We woke up the next morning after drinking about ten beers too many at a bar down the road, looking forward to chilling out before taking the short cab ride to the arena. There was one major problem, however, and that was that RAW wasn€™t in Detroit that night. It was in Ohio. Dayton, Ohio. After a quick Google search (using the hotel lobby internet which charged about $5 per 30 seconds) we realised our quickest way to get there would be a 3 hour bus ride. I thought about us going to Ohio for RAW but, after memories of the front desk clerk from Seattle taking us to Spokane, I wasn€™t keen on getting out of Detroit on a bus for three hours and ending up stranded in Ohio. We also all dreaded the idea of a 3 hour train on a hangover. We did what all good Scottish people would do - we found a bar and we drank A LOT of liquor. Incidentally, The Hardyz won the Tag Team Titles in a battle royal and Vince showed his bald head on RAW that night. I think propping up the bar was the right choice, since we didn't really miss that much.
