10 Fun Facts From My Trip To WWE WrestleMania 31

6. The Depression Of The WWE Hall Of Fame

The WWE Hall of Fame is an event that I'd attended since 2004 and every year it was fun to see the inductees tell stories or see strange happenings like Mick Foley pinning Chris Jericho on stage but for 2015, the night left me sad and depressed by the time we left.

The main culprit of this was the decision to do the Warrior Award and the Randy Savage induction back to back. My friend and I were having some cocktails as Dana Warrior came out to talk about Warrior. Dana gave a great speech where she was upset but also charming and fun.

Then Daniel Bryan came out to talk about Connor Michalek. As D-Bry spoke, I was sipping my cocktail feeling sad that this poor kid had died from a disease so young. Then Connor's dad came out to tell us how much he loved and missed his son, then Connor's little brother came out to say he loved him. I was officially depressed.

I hoped the next induction would get me out my funk, but sadly Randy Savage was up next. Hulk Hogan came out to do the honours which even for me, as a Hogan fan, felt a little too jarring. We all knew Randy hated Hulk and surely there was someone else to do the induction.

Randy's brother Lanny came out to talk about the late, great Macho Man, but we were sitting in our chairs feeling like we wanted to go and take a cold shower after hearing 45 minutes on the poor Connor story followed by half an hour on Randy Savage who had passed away several years earlier.

The Hall of Fame is a celebration, but in San Jose, it sunk me into a state of depression. Thanks, WWE!
