10 Fun Facts From My Trip To WWE WrestleMania 32
7. WrestleMania Media Row
Over the years, I've conducted hundreds of interviews with wrestlers, but thanks to my role here at WhatCulture, we got the chance to be a part of media row during WrestleMania weekend. I'm happy to report that WWE were great hosts, bringing us onto the site of WrestleMania Axxess as we waited for the talent to arrive.
Our technical king, Sam and I sat there as we wondered who would come out to talk to us, while I was trying to come up with ways to not ask them the same questions they'd get in every interview. It kicked off with Bayley, who was fantastic, before we sat down with the IC champ Kevin Owens, who told a great story about Dusty Rhodes helping him find his character in the company.
We got some fun interviews with NXT main eventers Samoa Joe and the big tease himself, Finn Balor, but that was all a warm up for the main event, where we had to try and keep Paul Heyman entertained.
For many interviewers, when Heyman starts to banter it can either put them off or it can make the interview a little awkward. But I am from Scotland, where everyone takes the piss out of each other on a daily basis, so I was more than happy to get slagged off by The Advocate. Out of all the interviews I did, the Heyman piece is the one I'm most proud of. Getting him to really think about which ECW names he'd like to see in the Hall of Fame was a highlight for me.
As I said to my friends that night, if I never get to do it again, I'll treasure the experience.
