10 Funniest Wrestling Moments Of 2018

1. Kane's Wig Falls Off At Crown Jewel

Kane S Mask
WWE

This was special.

Amid all the controversy of running a show on behalf a Saudi Arabian kingdom responsible for the death and dismemberment of dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and amid the slightly less offensive notion of Shawn Michaels first locking horns with Kane after eight years of wrestling's best-ever retirement tale had passed, the Big Red Machine's mask and wig fell off.

This was poetry.

The rankest of greed led us to this point, the sheer extent to which squashed any guilt, whatsoever, behind the laughter. Four ageing men, every one of them a sad shadow of their past selves, couldn't even play the hits on their dismal, over-long, arrogant reunion tour...which, of course, materialised on the most problematic stage imaginable.

WWE courted the heat. WWE, by adding Hulk Hogan (!) to the show, seemed to luxuriate in the heat - and the literal heat, in response to the invitation, sweated out Kane's head. Kane's mask and wig then fell off - what wonderful words to write they are - in a phenomenal sight gag WWE couldn't write if they tried, and they try for at least three hours every single week.

This was tempted fate popping the boys.
