10 Future WWE Champions Currently On NXT
7. Pete Dunne
Pete Dunne looked a shoe-in for main roster success this time last year, but 12 months of being an after-thought has seen him slowly slip down the NXT pecking order almost to the point of irrelevance.
Yet that shouldn't lead us to forget the incredible start to life in a WWE ring. He was the undisputed star of the inaugural UK Championship Tournament last January, sharing a pair of Match of the Year candidates with Tyler Bate.
That he's capable of these brilliant performances - and already such an impressive bad guy - at the age of just 24 bodes well for the future, as does the fact that he appears to have a big fan in the shape of Triple H, who was singing his praises after his debut.
The only thing against him is that he is perhaps a little towards the small side. Though the era of giants ended about 25 years ago, it's still relatively rare for wrestlers of under six foot to make it to the very top (but clearly not impossible, as someone like Rey Mysterio will tell you).
