10 Future WWE Champions Currently On NXT
4. Johnny Gargano
As far as we can tell, the word of Dave Meltzer doesn't carry much weight in the corridors of WWE power. He could award a wrestler a never-before-seen seven-star rating and it wouldn't make any difference to how he is perceived by Vince McMahon.
At the same time, only the most ardent WON hater would sit there and be unimpressed with the fact that Johnny Gargano managed to put on two five-star matches in less than three months, after the company went more than six years without a single one.
Not to labour the point, but of the nine other men who have received this honour, six of them have held the world title at some point or other (and of the three who didn't, one of them was Owen Hart - who very possibly would have eventually - and another was Andrade Almas, who almost certainly will).
But enough about the critics. By himself, Gargano stands out as one of NXT's most gifted performers. He's phenomenal in the ring, and what's more, his matches have genuine feeling and emotion. He's someone you can't help but root for - a bit like, say, Daniel Bryan.
