10 Future WWE Champions That Would Be A Sign Of The Apocalypse
9. Fandango
For a very brief instant, it looked like Fandango might be WWE's next breakout star. He defeated Chris Jericho in his debut match at WrestleMania XXIX, and the following night on Raw, fans in New Jersey's IZOD Center sang his theme song for the length of the show. Even John Cena was forced to acknowledge that the fans had hijacked the show and, much like they had in Miami with Daniel Bryan, potentially made a new star.
It turned out that "Fandango-ing" wasn't as strong of a craze as the "Yes! Movement." Still, WWE recognized his talent and remained devoted to his push... until June, when he suffered a concussion during a match with Zack Ryder.
He was only out for four weeks, but WWE's interest in pushing him seemed to have disappeared during that time. He came back to a string of losses, eventually finding himself mired in a feud between Summer Rae and Layla. He reinvented himself as a salsa dancer in 2014, but that change didn't last. Today, he's seldom seen, and a run with the WWE Title -- at one point, a genuine possibility -- has no chance of happening.
