The best heels think they're right.

In Chris Jericho's case, he was right when he pointed out that Shawn Michaels had faked an injury to beat Batista at Backlash 2008. HBK didn't like the truth and, angered further by Jericho's inkling that he'd also enjoyed retiring Ric Flair at 'Mania XXIV, went on the attack.

Michaels attacked Jericho twice before the story turned and Jericho gave Shawn some of his own medicine in June. The best thing about this one is that WWE pivoted so that it was Jericho who looked like the bad guy; he smashed HBK through the 'Jeritron' screen and carved up his eye. That, to the heel, was payback for his hero's subterfuge.

WWE spent months holding Jericho back from this fully-fledged heel turn. He expressed disappointment over Shawn's antics before finally realising that he had to take matters into his own hands. Michaels' expert selling reopened old wounds from 2003.
