10 Genius Ways Wrestlers Proved The Critics Wrong

6. Chris Jericho Makes The List

Frankly, the number of times Chris Jericho has counfounded the critics could be a list in and of itself. But for now, let's take a look at one of his finest rebuttals to the claim that the former Y2J was a spent force.

When Jericho made one of his semi-regular returns to the WWE at the start of 2016, he brought with him some serious "dad at the school disco" energy. Awkward skits alongside the now-popular New Day, and his cringeworthy attempts at getting "Rooty, Tooty Booty" over as a catchphrase, made Jericho seem like a washed-up rocker trying to show the cool kids he's still got it.

And then he made The List. (Granted, there was some other stuff in between - his misguided feud against AJ Styles and short-lived rivalry with Dean Ambrose - but The List was when the Jericho magic of old returned).

The List was such a simple concept - of ?????? someone as petty and vindictive as Jericho would keep a physical reminder of those who'd wronged him - but it worked beautifully. Chris and his clipboard became the highlight of every show they were on, and fans embraced "You just made The List!" every bit as fervently as they had rejected "Rooty, Tooty Booty".
