10 Genuine Reasons For Modern Wrestling Fans To Be Excited

7. The Seth Rollins/Cody Rhodes Feud

What a story! Cody leaves the WWE on not-so-great terms to eventually become an Executive Vice President in the competition that he helped create. Out of nowhere, Rhodes announces that he is giving up his sweet spot in AEW to join the talent roster back at WWE. In a great booking choice, Cody is put into a program with Seth Freakin; Rollins.

Rollins is a fantastic talent who has fallen victim to poor booking more than once since the dissolution of The Shield. This rivalry elevated both men's status in the company and is hopefully setting up a future feud between Cody and Rollins' fellow Shield alum Roman Reigns. The American Nightmare's current pectoral injury puts a creative pin in the storyline. It's a setback, sure, but based on crowd response, Cody's return should pick up where it left off. In the meantime, the three-time TNT Champion can still cut promos and be a thorn in the side of Seth.

At AEW, Cody always felt like the odd man out. His style is more suited to WWE's presentation, but he needed to be able to be himself. Seth Rollins has bounced from gimmick to gimmick lately (lest we forget the "Monday Night Messiah"), but found some real footing in his program with Rhodes.

Two talented wrestlers having great matches in a feud that makes sense? This has been the shot in the arm that WWE programming has needed, and has planted a narrative kernel with tremendous growth potential.
