10 Gimmicks WWE Should Bring Back For The PG Era

2. Festus

From one dim-witted WWE character, to another - it's Festus! After a disastrous spell as the 'fake Kane' in 2006, Drew Hankinson was sent back to OVW and then formed a tag team with Ray (son of Terry) Gordy. The team, known as Jesse and Festus, debuted on Smackdown in June 2007. Jesse was the mouthpiece of the team, the guy that did all of the talking. Festus just stood there, unresponsive. Jess talked at great length about what an unstoppable monster his mentally challenged partner was. Fans were confused, until the bell rang during their first official match and Festus was transformed into a rampaging madman. Festus was a decent gimmick but it wasn't destined for a long shelf-life: Hankinson was repackaged as CM Punk's straight edge bodyguard Luke Gallows in 2010. He now wrestles for New Japan Pro Wrestling (where he makes very good money as a member of the popular Bullet Club stable) so a WWE return seems unlikely. Still, WWE could revise the gimmick for the PG era. They don't necessarily need Gallows to do it.
