For the two weeks prior to defeating Randy Orton, Goldberg would take on Orton's mentor and fellow Evolution member Ric Flair. Goldberg would come out victorious on both occasions, the first time by disqualification and the second by pinfall despite the odds being stacked against him.

Orton himself acted as the special guest referee for the second match, making it a glorified handicap match. Goldberg would receive slow counts, Flair would get fast counts, and it seemed for all the world as though Goldberg would struggle to make it out of the No DQ match in one piece. Shawn Michaels arrived to even the odds however, hitting Orton with a Sweet Chin Music before using the Legend Killer's hand to count the three and give Goldberg the win.

Flair and Goldberg also had one singles match in WCW, a near 10-minute encounter on Nitro that would end in a no contest.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
