For a short period in the late 1990s, Sycho Sid was amazing. The crowd bought fully into his pungent insanity and he was a solid main event player. The man who would later be known for nonsensical promos and wrestling's most gruesome top-rope botch was actually good, really good, for a period encompassing Survivor Series 1996

The bonkers behemoth brought his greasy perm and mad stare to his match against Shawn Michaels for the world championship and projected a severely unhinged presence that got the Madison Square Gardens crowd hyped up before the opening bell.

Sid busted out ground grappling, snappy moves and even a nip-up as he put in the best performance of his career. Michaels had a reputation for being able to work with anything but he still needed a believable monster to play off for a compelling match and he got a lot more than that from Sid. The crowd even started rooting for Sid, leaving Michales bemused but playing into an ending that referenced Michaels' fabled hissyfits.
