10 Good Matches From Wrestlers You Wouldn't Expect
7. Kevin Nash (Vs. Shawn Michaels) - Good Friends, Better Enemies
Kevin Nash's 6'11' size and flippy-haired bikeresque image were more relevant to his success than his in-ring workrate. Jim Cornette famously described Nash's moveset as consisting of six moves, including the aforementioned hair flourish. His matches were about punches, kicks, and a climactic powerbomb, and not much else.
But Nash, when properly motivated, could put on a hell of a show, as he did under his Diesel name in the main event of In Your House: Good Friends, Better Enemies in 1996.
Nash's opponent was his famously good buddy Shawn Michaels, which did no harm at all to the graft Nash was willing to put in. Nash was sold as a relentless monster throughout, a relentless slab of meanness who ramped up the punishment he dealt to Michaels as the no holds barred contest continued. The ending even featured a prosthetic leg, which added some black comedy to the whole affair.
Nash's malevolent performance was set off perfectly by Michaels' best-in-the-business battered hero performance and the match stands as arguably the best of Nash's career.
