10 Good Matches From Wrestlers You Wouldn't Expect

4. Monster Ripper (Vs. Bull Nakano) - AJW 1991

Comedy fat lady Bertha Faye was used purely for laughs in the WWE, mainly to tickle Vince McMahon's sophomoric sense of humour. Before her grim WWE tenure she was Monster Ripper in AJW, where she was a full-on monster heel killing machine who terrorised the women's division and hit as hard as any home-grown joshi wrestler.

As an example of what she could have been in the WWE, look to her match against fellow bruiser Bull Nakano from 1991. Nakano is in the unfamiliar position of giving up size to her opponent in this clash of big-haired face-painted biffers. The two of them engage in a relentless, brutal contest that leaves blood all over the place and features a near-suicidal German suplex by Nakano on the huge Ripper.

As a monster heel, the woman born Rhonda Singh was truly terrifying and properly used could have formed the basis of the entire WWE women's division. As it was, her WWE run and subsequent WCW appearances were humiliating affairs that did next to nothing with a bona fide beast.
