10 Great Babyface Wrestlers Who Became SHOCKINGLY Good Heels

New Day Heel Clap

Kofi Kingston was seemingly too much fun to be a heel.

When he first came into WWE, he was one of the best pure athletes on the roster. Stamina, agility, core strength, the ability to jump over a house from a standing position. He had it all.

Despite his obvious talents, Kingston floundered in the midcard for years. That was, until he joined forced with two other guys and discovered a love for clapping...

The New Day were initially presented as happy-go-lucky good guys who preached the "power of positivity". Once it became painfully clear that everyone hated this gimmick, they decided to go heel, leaning into their obnoxious happiness with great effect. Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods were funny, great in the ring, and had a brilliant chemistry. In fact, they were so good, WWE had no choice but to turn them babyface again just a few months later.

The Ghanaian-born superstar has had other goes at being bad, but his initial heel run with The New Day was what opened everyone's eyes to just how good he could be.
