The 'New Brood' are, of course, Matt and Jeff Hardy, during the time when they were aligned with the vampiric Gangrel. The two hot young teams had been contesting a best-of-five series in an attempt to win a sack full of cash and the managerial services of Terri Runnels, with the decider coming in the first ever tag team ladder match at No Mercy.

Although not as spectacular as their later gimmick match showings together, this was the match that truly put all four men on the map, turning them from 'WWE wrestlers' to 'WWE superstars'. They worked so well together and were unafraid to take risks, treating those watching to so never before seen moves, spots and stunts.

Jeff Hardy, in particular, marked himself as being something of a young Shawn Michaels. The seesaw legdrop spot he unleashed was breathtaking, as were the multitude of high-impact bumps he put his body through.

Fittingly, it was Jeff that grabbed the $100,000 prize after about seventeen minutes worth of escalating craziness. When they got to the back, boths teams received a well-earned standing ovation from the locker room and enjoyed the same from the Raw audience the next evening. A must-see breakout performance.
