10 Great Non-PPV Matches You Must Watch On WWE Network
4. Shawn Michaels vs. John Cena - (Raw April 23, 2007)
The best in the business have a reputation of making their opponents look better than they ever could with anyone else. This is especially true of The Heartbreak Kid, as Shawn Michaels had a feud with John Cena in 2007 that is still remembered today by many of the WWE faithful. Some might say that Cena has perhaps never looked better than he did against Shawn that year. Cena's own reputation has always been that of a showman, an entertainer first and pro wrestler second. His perceived lack of skill in the ring has become the focal point for many fans over the years that just love to hate everything about him. So when John was paired with Shawn, it became obvious to those fans that WWE was making another attempt to elevate Cena. Despite which side of the argument fans may fall on, the fact is that this match stands out as one of the best in John's career. It's no accident that it came against the man that many feel is second only to Ric Flair on the list of greatest wrestlers of all time. Cena is the top dog today and he was the top dog then. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xm_PBEzlrvo That means that everyone he faces will likely fall eventually and it's the matches in between that will determine just how good each man can look when it's all over. Both men came out of this one looking great and much of that is thanks to Shawn, whose reputation for greatness has never been in question.
