10. King Barrett
There was a time when King Barrett looked like he could be the first English WWE Champion. After making his NXT debut, the future looked bright for the then Wade Barrett, but he slipped down the card pretty quickly after suffering some losses at the hands of John Cena (Bray Wyatt and Rusev can relate). From there, Barrett found some success with various runs as Intercontinental Champion, but didn't really get over with fans in a significant way until his Bad News Barrett gimmick. Unfortunately, the WWE's refusal to turn him face and a poorly timed injury killed much of his momentum. Despite winning the Intercontinental title after returning, Barrett quickly embarked on a losing streak which has stuck with him right through to his cringeworthy King Barrett phase (something he even acknowledged during Table for 3 on the WWE Network). Now, after being involved in a humiliating segment which culminated in Barrett being slapped in the face by a pint sized footballer, he's right at the very bottom of the card. At this stage, it's impossible to see Barrett's career being able to recover to the point where fans can take him seriously as someone who could legitimately compete for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. During his initial run as Bad News Barrett, there's a very slim chance that this could have worked, but as things stand, Barrett has no more of a chance of winning the big one than William Regal ever did.
