10 Great TNA Matches You Completely Forgot About

3. Motor City Machine Guns Vs. Team 3D - Turning Point 2010

The Motor City Machine Guns and Team 3D (The Dudley Boyz) have had many matches in TNA over the years, but I would have no problem calling their bout at Turning Point 2010 their best. The Hogan/Bischoff era in TNA was a dumpster fire of plague proportions, but one thing they seemed to get incredibly right was their eventual (begrudging) decision to put the tag belts on MCMG.

The MCMG/Beer Money Best of Five stands out as the best non X-Division thing TNA ever did, but this title match against the Dudleys should not be overlooked. Team 3D were teasing retirement (yes, six years ago), and the story here was that they wanted to win the titles and subsequently retire as champions.

Well, they weren't able to do that and rightfully so, but it didn't stop these four men putting on one hell of a show. The Dudleys did everything they could to get an already hugely over Guns even more so in this match, even going so far as to allow Chris Sabin to kick out of the 3D. Trust me, not many folk have been allowed to do that over the years.

The Guns would pick up the win after hitting Skull and Bones on Brother Ray, and all four men embraced after the match. When TNA did tag team wrestling well, they did it damn well.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
