10 Great Wrestlers Who Couldn't Have A Good Match Together

3. Steve Austin & The Undertaker

Given their legendary status within the wrestling business, and the fact that they were both WWE main event fixtures when the company was at its hottest, you'd think that Steve Austin and The Undertaker's mutual history would be filled with classic bouts. Sadly, this isn't the case, and while they certainly produced a number of decent one-on-ones together, none were befitting of their stellar reputations.

'Stone Cold' has spoken of his and 'Taker's lack of in-ring chemistry many times in the past, and the best example of this came at Backlash 2002. It was late career Austin at his absolute worst: a long, drawn out brawl with no real ebb and flow, no escalation of drama, and sloppy psychology, with 'Taker going from working one body part to another without consequence.

They had solid singles matches at SummerSlam 1998 and Fully Loaded 1999, but neither touched greatness, and their No Holds Barred clash at Judgment Day 2001 was another disappointing stinker. Both men were hamstrung by injuries throughout their various rivalries, but 'Stone Cold' was still capable of delivering high drama long after breaking his neck. Sometimes, there's just no way of circumventing a lack of in-ring chemistry.
