10 Great Wrestlers Who Never Had A One-On-One Match At WWE WrestleMania

1. Dusty Rhodes

Dusty Rhodes WrestleMania VI

He's one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, but Dusty only got one chance to shine on The Grandest Stage.

Rhodes captured the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship three times, putting on amazing matches with the likes of Harley Race, Terry Funk, and Ric Flair.

Things took a turn for the worst in 1989, though, when Rhodes arrived in the World Wrestling Federation. According to rumour, Dusty was given his yellow polka-dots gimmick as a means of humiliating him.

Vince didn't want someone who was so closely associated with his competition getting over in his company. As a result, Dusty never fulfilled his potential in the WWF.

His singular appearance at WrestleMania came against Randy Savage. Whilst this may sound like a dream match, it's somewhat ruined by the fact that Rhodes was partnered with Sapphire and Savage was partnered with Sensational Sherri.

A sub-eight minute mixed tag team match was not the best use of such an amazing wrestler, especially when a singles match with The Macho Man was also an option.

If Dusty had been treated like a big deal when he arrived in the WWF, then we could have been treated to some incredible matches, promos, and moments from The Dream. Sadly, this was not to be, but Dusty's legend is so great that it will live on regardless.
