10 Great Wrestlers (With Terrible WrestleMania Records)

9. Andre the Giant (2-3-1)

WWE's favourite icon was never the same after his historic Wrestlemania III bout against Hulk Hogan.

By the time Hogan slammed the 520-800 lb Giant (the weight varies depending on how excitable Hogan gets when retelling the story), Andre's health had already caught up with him. The acromegaly that caused Andre's inflated size severely limited his capabilities in the ring, and it only got worse as the years rolled on.

The man who won WrestleMania 2's 20-man battle royal by throwing Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart over his head soon became unable to do much of anything in the ring. Subsequent 'Mania bouts against Hogan and Jake the Snake Roberts (both ending in DQ) showcased how little Andre had left in the tank, and Wrestlemania VI saw Andre lose the tag team titles in a match where his partner never once tagged him in, so poor was his health at the time.

Fortunately, WWE granted the Giant one final moment of greatness following the bout's conclusion. Andre slapping the s**t out of Bobby Heenan remains one of the great moments in WrestleMania history, and the crowd cheering the Giant on his way out still tugs on the heartstrings all these years later.

RIP, Andre. There's never been another like you.
