10 Great Wrestlers (With Terrible WrestleMania Records)
7. Shawn Michaels (6-11)
It's safe to say that Mr. WrestleMania got his nickname for the quality of his performances, rather than the number of his victories.
Indeed, one Shawn Michaels' biggest wins came on the back of one of his most disappointing matches. Michaels' insomnia-curing victory over Bret Hart at WM XII was the wrestling equivalent of a beautiful stranger promising you an hour of heavenly bliss, only to take you to their weekly Mormon meeting.
However, it would be unfair to dwell on the negative when Michaels gave gave us so many great 'Mania memories. Where do you even start? The game-changing ladder match against Razor Ramon? His triumphant return to the Show of Shows against Chris Jericho after a five year absence? His mat classic against Kurt Angle?
And that's not even mentioning his wildly entertaining street fight against Vince McMahon. Or his tear-jerking bout against Ric Flair at WrestleMania XXIV. Or his belief-beggaringly brilliant match against Undertaker the following year, capped off by his last ever match against the same opponent one year later.
(Let's all pretend Saudi Arabia never happened. Shawn Michaels certainly wishes it hadn't).
To paraphrase Michaels' comments about Triple H, the Heart Break Kid really was that good.
