10 Great Wrestlers WWE Must Sign For The Cruiserweight Revival

2. Ricochet

If you believe the rumour mill, Ricochet has been on WWE’s radar for a long time. His name is continually brought-up every time potential signings are mentioned, and it’s easy to see why WWE are allegedly interested.

Also moonlighting as Lucha Underground’s Prince Puma, Ricochet is one of the most recognisable high-fliers on the planet. Known for his flashy move-set and gravity-defying high spots, he has been setting North America and Japan on-fire over the past few years, and his 630° Senton has to be seen to believed.

Ricochet is no one-trick pony, though. He’s as lithe and agile as a professional acrobat, yes, but he’s solid on the microphone, and brings-out a lot of charisma through his work. Ricochet can flip and fly, but he knows when to slow things down, sell, and give the crowd a chance to breathe between the big moments. He is a complete professional wrestler, and would slot into WWE’s roster with little to no adjustment period.

The situation is somewhat muddied by his status in NJPW and LU, however. Though not under full-time NJPW contract, he is a current 6-Man Tag Team Champion over there, so he and his partners Matt Sydal and Satoshi Kojima would have to rid themselves of the belts before he could sign.

Similarly, Ricochet’s LU contract prevents him from appearing on another American promotion’s TV shows until all of his pre-taped appearances have been televised, which presently looks like mid-2017.

WWE’s lawyers could likely wrangle their way out of this situation, however, and that’s exactly what they’ll do should they prioritise Ricochet as a signing.
