10 Great Wrestling Factions Who Held All The Gold

6. The Four Horsemen

For fans of a certain vintage (and plenty of modern viewers too), The Four Horsemen will always be the first and last word in wrestling stables. Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, and various combinations of performers made up a rotating cast of old school grappling legends.

There were good times and bad for the Horsemen, but we’re not here to talk about the Paul Roma or Mongo McMichaels eras, nor the weird spell in which Sting was a member. In their glory days, they were an incredibly over and successful faction.

With Ole Anderson and Tully Blanchard, they scored multiple midcard title runs for Tully and Arn, and Flair was always in and around the NWA Worlds Championship picture. The scene got rosier still when Lex Luger swapped in for Ole, with Arn and Tully becoming tag champs, Luger US champ, and Flair holding the big gold belt.

And with Barry Windham later replacing Luger, they were perhaps the best version yet. The Horsemen could work, they could draw, they could talk, they lived their gimmicks, and they made a lot of money doing it. Good times.
