10 Great Wrestling Factions Who Held All The Gold

5. The Undisputed Era

NXT’s black and gold heyday had many different glorious periods, but there’s a strong argument that the Undisputed Era’s heyday was as good as it got. The combination of Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish and, slightly later, Roderick Strong were as over as it got down in Florida and could be relied upon to put on fantastic matches and cut great promos week upon week.

For a long while, they dominated the brand, and the most impressive thing about UE was that it was never boring. O’Reilly and Fish - now reDRagon in AEW - took on Moustache Mountain, War Raiders and more in sensational tag matches. Strong held up an impressive midcard, fighting the likes of Pete Dunne and Velveteen Dream. And Cole cemented himself as the face of the brand, ultimately scaling to the top in a terrific feud with Johnny Gargano.

By late 2019, the prophecy had come true: they held every male belt in the company. UE was that rarest of things, a wrestling group that’s genuinely cool. They worked heel for the majority of their run, but couldn’t stop getting cheered.

Alongside this, they participated in every WarGames match until the group’s untimely split. While Cole was the star attraction, this was a team that far exceeded the sum of its parts.
