10 Great Wrestling Factions Who Held All The Gold
4. The Golden Role Models
Not a stable per se, but the team of Sasha Banks and Bayley deserve special mention for how well they held up WWE during the difficult early days of the pandemic. Their unions are never long for this world - it’s just a question of who’ll ultimately turn on whom - but while it lasts, it’s always fun.
2020 saw the best version of Bayley to date in her heel turn, and with Sasha alongside her as her best friend and future mortal foe, there was nothing she couldn’t do. Bayley embarked on a superb run as SmackDown women’s champion, often leaning on Sasha to do her dirty work.
Shortly after WrestleMania, the pair grabbed the tag belts from Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross, cementing them as a fantastically charismatic heel unit. And to top it off, Banks wrested the Raw Women’s title from Asuka - admittedly this took the form of some rather daft booking that allowed the belt to change hands via count-out, but there’s no denying Sasha deserved it.
With Bayley making her way back from injury and Banks being bizarrely underutilised by the company, the stage could just be set for a reunion of the Golden Role Models, something we’d certainly enjoy until the next inevitable break up.
