10 Great Wrestling Factions Who Held All The Gold

2. Evolution

The Shield WWE
WWE

Perhaps the most famously dominant faction in WWE history, Evolution enjoyed a period of immense success in the early ‘00s. The high point for the group - Triple H, Ric Flair, Randy Orton, and Batista - came at 2003’s Armageddon, which saw the team take home every men’s belt the company had to offer.

Obviously inspired by Flair’s Four Horsemen, this was a crew not short on confidence. They strutted their stuff in suits, gobbled up TV time, and dominated the main event scene. Even when they split up, they looked out for each other, with Orton and Batista both quickly slipping into main event feuds with HHH on leaving Evolution.

But while there was a self-serving element to the group, it also did its job extremely well, making huge stars out of Orton and Batista and getting Ric Flair’s groove back. And if Hunter was able to enjoy a few more world title runs in the meantime, well, that’s just gravy.

This was a smartly constructed stable with a clear role for all involved and a track record that speaks for itself and then some.
