10 Great Wrestling Feuds That Produced Disappointing Matches

5. Brock Lesnar Vs. Braun Strowman

WWE did a great job of building Braun Strowman up as the one man who could finally slay The Beast and bring the Universal Championship back to TV full-time. The Monster Among Men was unafraid of Brock Lesnar and was seemingly immune to his killer suplexes, highlighted beautifully when he got right back up and hit the Universal Champion with a Chokeslam. This was all building towards an epic title match.

When the two men finally met one-on-one at No Mercy, they actually put on a decent match that told a great story. The only problem was that, despite the fact that they weren't given enough time, the repetitive format somehow managed to slow things down. This ultimately led to an abrupt and overall, flat finish which saw Lesnar take everything Strowman had to offer only to hit a single F-5 and win the match. It was such an anticlimactic ending that deflated the audience (and Strowman's momentum).
