Randy Orton's feud with Bray Wyatt proved to be one of the more surprisingly intriguing storylines of 2016. With cryptic promos, turncoat Vipers and even Kane thrown in for good measure, this bonkers rivalry was incredibly enjoyable and gave Orton a chance to cut some engaging promos while allowing Bray Wyatt to do what he does best: talk. The pair would eventually form an unholy alliance before Orton won the Royal Rumble and chose his former partner as his WrestleMania opponent.

Though the title added more stakes to the pair's match, it could not save the bout from becoming the biggest dud of the night. On the grand stage of WrestleMania, these two men had absolutely no in-ring chemistry and produced a terribly-worked match. It felt like WWE had predicted that it wouldn't be great because they really tried to make it exciting by projecting footage of creepy-crawlies onto the ring, but nothing could get the crowd interested in what has gone down in history as one of the most underwhelming WWE Championship matches in 'Mania history. The abrupt ending which saw Wyatt lose his recently-won title made it all the more baffling.

The disastrous outing destroyed the mystique of the intriguing supernatural story and the only thing more dead than the crowd was Bray Wyatt's push.
