Where: NWA Great American Bash 1987

The Match: The Road Warriors, Paul Ellering, Dusty Rhodes and Nikita Koloff vs. The Four Horsemen inside a double steel cage structure was the selling point for the NWA's 1987 Great American Bash tour. Thus, WarGames was born, and it proved to be one of wrestling's most timeless gimmicks.

Everyone worked hard to make it special.

Why It Sucked: Unlike fans watching on closed circuit (a precursor and occasional alternative to pay-per-view), fans live in Atlanta would've had a tough time following everything that was happening. Put it this way: NWA attendees had no less than 10 wrestlers to keep an eye on across multiple rings.

Being at ringside, for example, would've given one a sore neck; following WarGames might've been more like watching a tennis match than a wrestling bout. Those in the arena didn't have the luxury of carefully-chosen camera angles to make sure they didn't miss any big spots or moments either.

It was surely messy.
