10 Great WWE Characters That Have Grown Stale

6. Lacey Evans

Lacey Evans is a great example of how some people are better suited to the main roster than NXT. Evans did little of note on the yellow brand but found herself thrust into a position of prominence on the main roster, immediately placed into title contention and main events. It wasn't all smooth sailing, but Evans learned quickly and displayed more than enough aptitude to suggest it wasn't necessarily a foolish move.

Fast forward a year, and Evans has lost some of her shine. She hasn't been helped by a lack of clarity on her character, moving back and forth across the face/heel ledger depending on who she was scheduled to do battle against. When she fought babyfaces, it felt as though her character was better suited to being a babyface, with the reverse being true when she was portraying a face. As time went by, Lacey Evans became more and more tired as a character.

The Sassy Southern Belle needs focus, she needs a change, she needs freshening up. That doesn't necessarily mean a gimmick overhaul, quite the opposite, but Lacey Evans is in dire need of a direction. If that isn't forthcoming, she will continue to gather dust.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
