If you're in the mood for more technical wrestling excellence, then fire up the WWE Network to see Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Benoit on either the 16 February or 3 May 2004 episodes of Raw. Both showed what magic that pairing were capable of, and it's sad to think fans were robbed of a pay-per-view clash.

They'd have to settle for some, admittedly awesome, Triple Threats.

Triple H was involved in those stereo stunners at WrestleMania XX and Backlash '04 too. Although it's hard to criticise that decision when both were marvellous, it is regrettable that Benoit and Michaels never had the chance to work one-on-one beyond regular TV shows.

Michaels had some absolute belters against some of Benoit's greatest rivals in that era; his matches against Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho and others were blistering. Even so, a singles match on pay-per-view with Benoit is one that eluded the 'Showstopper'.
